2017 What A Year!!!

The hubby and I have had quite a year! 2017 has been filled with so much fun and lots of adventures that we feel so blessed to have been able to experience together.

Our whirlwind year of fun started out in February in OKC watching my favorite 80’s band Bon Jovi in concert. This was my 4th time seeing them and little did I know that this would be just the beginning of our 2017 concert tour!

In March the hubby and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on our dream trip to Hawaii. We spent a week in Oahu that was absolutely magical. So many bucket list worthy experiences that I will always look back on with a sense of awe. Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach and the North Shore were all places I had dreamt of visiting but never really expected to see. But we did!

It was after this trip that a friend of mine had this CRAZY suggestion. She said that with my love of vacations that I should write a travel blog. What? I didn’t even know what that was. The only blogger I knew was the Pioneer Woman and she wrote about recipes. How did someone even write a blog?

Well, a few months later that’s exactly what I started doing. I still really have no idea what I’m doing, but am figuring it out. This whole blogging experience has been a great excuse to travel even more, so I guess as long as people keep reading, I’ll keep writing!

Our summer was filled with concerts and ball games. Def Leppard, Poison, Guns N Roses, and Journey were just a few of the bands we enjoyed while reliving our glory days.

To balance out all of the concerts for me we also went to several St. Louis Cardinals games and even watched the KC Royals play. Gotta keep the hubby happy!

In October we set out on another grand adventure! This was a trip filled with several firsts for me. First time using my passport. First international flight. Also my first group vacation.

Puerto Vallarta was our beautiful home away from home for 7 days. We stayed at an all inclusive resort, also a first for me. So many memories were made and we were blessed to have family there to share it with us.

In November the travels continued as the hubby and I ventured off to Chicago. We enjoyed the beginning of the Christmas season in the Windy City where they really do it right! The Lights Festival and Christkindlmarket are Chicago traditions that we were able to experience first hand.

We also watched a Chicago Bulls basketball game. I won’t lie I was probably almost as excited about this as the hubby and I must say it was amazing! Growing up during the Michael Jordan era this was a real dream come true.

As I am writing this and thinking about all of the fun we had this year I am wondering how 2018 can ever live up to all that 2017 brought us? I’m not certain that it can, but it sure will be fun to try as the hubby and I just keep on collecting memories as we go.

Happy New Year!!!

  1. What a,wonderful year you had! I’m so glad you’re able to do all of these things! Memories cannot ever be taken away! On to 2018!

  2. Great…more you. One correction from the teacher in me. You have a typo in the section about Chicago …you have were when you meant where. Other than that and that odd looking woman in black and white it was wonderful!
